[Notebook of stellar spectra observations]
INAF – Rome Astronomical Observatory, Hystorical Archive
In 1867 Secchi published a catalogue of the stars whose spectra he had studied; stars where listed alphabetically by constellation and, for each star, the catalogue indicated the spectral type it belonged to and the description of any peculiarities observed in the spectrum. At INAF-Rome Astronomical Observatory are kept many of the original notebooks containing the pencil sketches drawn by Secchi, of the spectra he observed, together with notes of their characteristics:
this material has not yet been explored and it certainly deserves further attention. The present notebook shows the spectrum of the polar star, as well as some notes describing it. [i.c.]
